How to sell what you know through the internet
small business accounting software
I use video to help my customers not just learn new skills and master new ways of using my low cost alternative to small business accounting software packages like QuickBooks or Peachtree but to teach them other useful business skills such as people management and planning. This is quite straight forward all you have to do is follow my instructions and you should be able to start selling what you know through the internet. I would recommend you take the time to design and create your own product (digital content) as the margin you earn will be higher and you have the added benefit of learning from your customers what you could do to refine your product and maybe sell more.
Creating and delivering video online is now incredibly simple and the significance of its popularity is epitomised by the number of videos available from YouTube and in downloadable podcasts. These platforms are absolutely brilliant for selling, promoting and building a reputation for whatever information products you have in mind, regardless of whether its how to upgrade your airline seat or replace your small business accounting software.
The first thing you need to understand is how to prepare your knowledge or content so as you can turn it into video, don’t worry its quite simple. If you have ever given a presentation or a talk using slides made by microsoft powerpoint or apple keynote then you are off to a great start to storyboard your video. I am a great believer in doing as much as is possible without spending any money what so ever and gaining confidence in your idea and making some money before you start, I call this getting the rope across the river.
I have tried loads of other tools and experienced a lot of pain doing this and by far the best tool I have used and still use today is TechSmith Camtasia Studio as it will produce videos in YouTube, Podcast, Windows Media Player and Quicktime formats and it has a great library of tutorials which you should watch first (whatever you do, do not download the 30 day trail yet). You have thirty days free use of the Camtasia Studio software once you download the trial and what you don’t want to do is have it lying idle on your machine whilst you finish your storyboard and cut into the time you have to produce and refine your video.
OK now you have to do the homework I have set you in learning some of the tools I have mentioned above and in the next couple of days I will be publishing to this blog (owners permitting) a detailed set of instructions on how I create small business accounting software videos.
