How you can get people all over the world to buy your knowledge
small business accounting software
I create educational videos like the one above (1 hour to make) to teach subjects like accounting and business management to people using my low cost replacement for small business accounting software such as Quickbooks or PeachTree. I think everyone with a skill should have the opportunity to sell their knowledge online, se here I am going to walk you through how to turn what you know into digital content and sell it to a worldwide audience. I recommend you build your own information product (digital content) from scratch as the return on your investment in time will be higher (profit margin) and you will have the added benefit of being able to learn more about your customers and build more value into your product.
I know you will be familiar with the term podcast and the chances are you may have even downloaded a podcast video or audio to iTunes and loaded it onto your iPhone or iPod. These platforms are absolutely brilliant for selling, promoting and building a reputation for whatever information products you have in mind, regardless of whether its how to upgrade your airline seat or replace your small business accounting software.
The best way to decide what content you are going to include in your video is to start by creating a storyboard that lays out the structure and format of your video(s) content. The easiest way to create a storyboard is to use either a slide making program like Microsoft powerpoint or Apple Keynote or use mind mapping software like Mindmeister or Bubbl but my preference is to use slides as these can be used in the video. You do not have to incur any expense what so ever to create a storyboard, produce a professional quality video and get your work online, in front of your target market and start selling it.
I have tried loads of other tools and experienced a lot of pain doing this and by far the best tool I have used and still use today is TechSmith Camtasia Studio as it will produce videos in YouTube, Podcast, Windows Media Player and Quicktime formats and it has a great library of tutorials which you should watch first (whatever you do, do not download the 30 day trail yet). I would wait until you are absolutely satisfied your storyboard is ready and you are one hundred percent familiar with the TechSmith tutorials befor downloading the trial as you want to get the maximum use of the free functionality.
OK you are beginning to get an appreciation of the tools you will need and the approach you should take to sell your knowledge online, what I have given you already will help you get prepared for the next lesson where I go into a lot of detail on how to create the storyboard which I will be releasing to this blog (owners permitting) in the next few days, so look out for part two and if you have any questions in the meantime please follow the small business accounting software links.
