How to Advertise your Business on Myspace

marketing business

Advertising on MySpace

Advertising on MySpace is a very inexpensive way to make your business grow.  Some of the ways to advertise on MySpace are even free!

Getting started on MySpace

First go to www.myspace.com.  Once there you can create a profile page for your business.  Include everything that you need for your clients to know about your business.  During the sign up process, there will be an option to import contacts from your email address book.  If you choose to do this, MySpace will let you know which of your contacts are already on MySpace and send them a friend request.  The contacts that do not have a MySpace account will be shown as well and you will have the option of sending them an invitation to join MySpace.  Once they do you will be notified and can send them an add request.  All of this is free of charge and is a great way to keep in touch with your clients.  MySpace also will recommend people that you might or might not know based on who is on your friends list and if you take advantage of this, it is a great way to get your company out there.

Updating clients through MySpace

MySpace has a great tool to keep your clients updated with what is going on with your business, it’s like neon business signs.  This tool is called status update.  You put your status in…whatever is going on with your business, like if you are having an upcoming promotion and it is broadcast to everyone on your friends list.  I would recommend that you check your MySpace account and update your status daily.

Ads on MySpace

MySpace has a lot of applications to choose from and on every one of these applications are banner ads.  If you want to pay for a banner ad, this is a good place to put one because it will be seen by so many people across the whole world.

There are also ad links posted on every MySpace page as well.  These are usually unobtrusive and at the bottom of the page.

MySpace also has ads on every single page.  A lot of these are pay per click ads that are a very inexpensive way of reaching your target demographics.  Pay per click ads, like custom outdoor neon signs, are very effective as well in that you only pay for it when someone actually clicks on it and goes to your page.

MySpace

In general, MySpace can be a very good way to get your business name out there and get noticed on a global level.  Social networking sites like MySpace are filled with opportunities for your business if you take the time and are innovative enough to take advantage of everything they have to offer.  It doesn’t take but just a few minutes to set up an account and create a page, then it works for you instead of you working for it.  Always try to work smarter not harder.  MySpace helps you do just that and is fun to be on at the same time.

Internet Relationships3 Change Want to Need

I have observed this process functioning successfully for a number of years. I’m more dedicated to it and enthusiastic about it now than when I first heard it. The enjoyments of my personal life have flowered from the use of it. The barren, rocky moments have resulted when my emotions got in the way of my using the rule.

If I could make only one small change in the formula. Replace the word want with need. You see, wants and needs are separate substances. Wants are frivolous, itchy, plundering, often greedy forces that are never satisfied. Meet one want, and there are two more to replace it.

Needs however, are the deeper currents of one’s existence. They are meaningful, worthy and not as capricious as wants.

People want sympathy but they need empathy.

People want riches; they need fulfillment.

People want big cars and expensive homes but they need transportaion and shelter.

People want fame; they need recognition.

People want power but they need support and cooperation.

People want to dominate; they need to influence and guide.

People want prestige; they need respect.

Children want freedom and premissiveness but they need discipline.

People want make believe relationships; they need honesty and reality.

People want ease and comfort but they need achievement and work.

People want adoration; they need love.

So let’s say. “To the degree you give others what they need; they will give you what you need.”

Let’s think about that. What do people really need? To discover that you and I must become closer. But we can do that. For there are few relationships more intimate than that of a readers eyes. The relationship is a silent one, no verbal interruptions, no detours. It’s a very private conversation between two people, never more. If sincere, speaking from the heart in a way most understandable to the reader. You can reject, accept, pause, ponder, reread, and react in any way you would like without any risk of accompanying other types of communication.

It is a warm and wonderful association. I for one am going to enjoy every word of it. I hope you do, too. I would like to be your friend. That means I really must open up and disclose myself to you. When I do that you will not only know me, but there is a good chance you will get to know yourself as well. As well as others. This we call “relating.”

That’s how you will discover what others need so that you can apply our formula: “To the degree you give others what they need; they will give you what you need.” Try to relate. Open up. Remove your mask, and then others will remove theirs.

Internet Relationships2 People Go In The Wrong Directions

With a pathway so open and available, why don’t more people get on it to go where they want to go? It’s probably because of a fork in the road. People are going to go in one of two directions it seems. Their wants and needs or thos of others. Many are so blinded by their personal wants that they give very little thought to filling the needs of others.

Jill knows what she wants from her husband, however what he wants never fully gets throught to her.

The foreman knows he wants those lug bolts tightended as the body frame comes down the assembly line, but what does the one doing the tightening really want?

The parent know the way they want their children to grow up, but do they really show as much consern for what the childeren want emotionally, that is?

The salesperson has a strong desire to sell the stove but is almost afraid to ask about the prospect’s wants, for fear the product won’t fit.

Pete feels that Janes does not love him in the same way he wants to be loved. Mabe it’s because Pepe has been blind ot her wants and needs.

The teacher wants the dull, sleepy eyed teen to be more attentive, but what does the gawky young stalk of humanity really want? Has anyone thought about that?

And so it goes. Everyone wants something from someone else and becomes frustrated when it is not forthcoming.

Do you know what happens many times? They start applying an reverse version of the rule. They try punishing people just what people do not want, in an effort to get what they want.

The air gets chilly when Jane doesn’t get what she wants from Pete. The foreman yells at the lug bolt tightener. The parents will scold, and spank and threaten when the childern don’t fit the mold. The sales person jabbers on desperately when it appears the prospect is lukewarm. “Maybe Jane will shape up if I make her a little jealous,” Pete reasons. And the teacher threatens, shames, and disciplines, in futile attempts to shake off the teenager’s lethargy.

And that is the story of the human in a highly individualized society. Divorces, splits in families, high job turnover, heavy hearts, wasted cares, crumbled dreams, lonely lives all haunted by ineffective efforts to relate to others. This was mentioned in the last article. Find out what people want. Then help them get it. That’s the way to reverse most of those distressing situations.

It’s another way of describing the rule.Or at least the first part of it, that: To the very degree you give others what they want and need. They in turn will give you what you want.

Internet Relationships4: We Never Really Grow Up

A large part of my emotional direction was established early in life. The longer I live the more impressed I am about that. Now that I’m a seasoned adult it seems I should have outgrown my childhood nautre. But I haven’t. I know now I will not.

My Childhood was a struggle to receive friendship, acceptance, love and recognition. Just like chickens, a peeking order was established in the flock of children. Who was the funniest, smartest, cutest, strongest, or most popular? Who could run the fastest, throw the stone the farthest, hold their breath the longest, or win the most marbles?

I sure did not end up on top. But most of the other kids were right there with me, reacting about as I did. At that age one doesn’t talk about feelings of inadequacy or inferiority. So at times it seemed as though I were alone, separated from the rest of the world.

Like striking an already bruised muscle, criticism, rejection, failure, or rebuke intensified this conviction. I would not let this be found out, because it seemed shameful, a sign of weakness proof, perhaps that I didn’t deserve to be on the top of the heap.

I held on dearly to every indication of love or recognition. Like the comment of Mrs. Bruce, my eighth grade English teacher, who suggested I could write.

“You are much like Abraham Lincoln,” she said. “You say a lot in a few words.” A moment later she revealed that she knew I was one of the boys who had waxed her car windows on Halloween. What a wonderful person. She was the only teacher in my eighteen years of school that said anything good about my academic ability.

It’s little wonder that at times I had a complex and felt quite average intellectually.

I suppose the acorn never stops needing the earth, the moisture, and the air, even after it becomes a grown tree. So, here I am, an adult, and find I have changed so very little in my needs since those long ago days.

I still look for recognition and acceptance.

I still flourish with the praise and crumble with the criticism and the rejection.

There are times I still feel lonely not when I’m alone with someone I know well, but when I am surrounded by strangers. In a crowded shopping center, for instance, I feel awkward, distant from everyone else. People stare at me not as a human being, it seems, but as more of a thing. I would like a friendly face to look into, want to meet eyes that say “Hello” rather than don’t come near me.” Perhaps that is why a warm welcome and a smile are so pleasing from one who serves me in a store. It relieves, for a moment, the loneliness.

There are short spaces when I have a strong yearning to be loved. I do not mean physical love, although that is important. I refer to the communication of emotional love. These spans of longing seem to arrive after I have been involved heavily with people for long periods of time. It is almost like wanting a recess a coffee break, a point when you surrender from the process of living. I want to know that all the effort, and the trying to be loved gets results. I must go to someone who cares about me and merely be in that person’s presence quietly and effortlessly and be fulfilled with the sense of being loved.

And so I have discovered that most of the things I want from life I must get from people. It would simplify life to be able to say that I don’t need others, that I can exist only with my God, my work, paddling my canoe in the bay, or running in the morning, looking at the mountain peaks or just being alone.

I like those things deeply and peaceful, but my life would be shallow if that were all I had. I want to tell someone about my experiences.

I must share myself with people. I have much yet to accomplish with my life. This requires the help of others. I need people to notice me, encourage me, praise me, accept me, and care about me.

You could say, “But you have all of that. Don’t you know?” I would respond with, “Yes, I know that, logically.” You have been around a long time so I know you’re my friend. You work with me, perhaps you married me, you fill my car with gas, or you play golf with me. So I know you must be my friend.

“But I don’t know it emotionally unless you communicate it and experience it. If you like being with me smile at me, if you love me touch me. If you miss me write to me. Then my feelings as well as my mind will know of our love and friendship. You will be helping me. Because the energy of my life are my emotions. That is the substance that stimulates me to achieve, grow, work, progress, and become more than I was yesterday.”

“And when you do this thing for me, then I’m a little like a puppy dog. Pet me, show me some love, and I’ll wag my tail, jump up and down, follow you around, and do the things you ask me to do. However your strokes and affection must be real. Because like the puppy, I can tell if it is. If your attention is false and a device to manipulate me, I’ll smell you out and resist you.”

Internet Relationships1: Something to Think About

“So, to the degree you give others what they want, in return they will give you what you want.” It was Byron Thompson of the Dale Carnegie Institute of Training, summing up a two day conference of motivation and persuasion.

I seized a pencil and wrote down his statement. It was one of those rare, profound, chunks of insight that can change the course of one’s life. I wished I had learned its meaning years before. To the degree you give others what they want, in return they will give you what you want!

That is the key to persuading, leading, motivating, selling, supervising, influencing, guiding others getting people to do things for you. You can read all the books you want, take all the training courses, spend thousands of hours pursuing the secrets of affecting the thoughts and behavior of others, and you will discover it can all be compressed into that one

To the degree you give others what they want, they inturn will give you what you want. It seems pretty simple. Perhaps it really is, if you understand it. Not many do. For there are some implications of the rule that you must know and apply before you can make it work for you. Or else, the principle seems to work in reverse:People resist you, act against you, do the things you do not want them to do.

For instance, you must first give others what they want. And then they give you the things you may want. Most people have that twisted around.

A guy says to himself, “I’d give my wife a box of candy if she would show me more affection.”

An employer feels that an employee should get praise and recognition after putting forth some extra effort.

school,” mutters a parent.

“I could warm up a lot easier to Joe if he weren’t so darn cold and grouchy,” Jill thinks silently.

A salesperson announces to his manager, “Wow, would I ever be excited if I cracked the Trump account!”

These folks have the formula backwards. The man needs to bring his wife the candy first; then he will get more affection. The employer must give praise and recognition first in order to bring forth the extra effort from the employee. The parent has to express confidence in the kids first then they will start coming through with better grades. Jill has to warm up to Joe first; then the indifference and grumpiness of Joe will melt away. The salesperson must generate excitement first, then the juicy sales will fall in to place.

And that’s just the way the law works. If you first give others what they want; then they will give you what you want.

Of course, it takes patience and other things. Like knowing what it is people want and knowing how you can give them the things they want and knowing what it is you actually want and what you’re willing to give in order to get it.

If you’re looking to manipulate and shuffle people around for your own satisfaction, if you want to inflate your own ego by gaining power over those who are vulnerable, if you’re looking for tricky ways to maneuver people into buying things they don’t need, if you feel the need to dominate or subdue others, even your own family and are looking for psychological buttons to push to always get your way. Then you are reading the wrong article.

Understand me please. This is not about getting; it is about giving, and loving, and succeeding. In fact, it’s about becoming immensely successful. For if you can get things done with people in joy and harmony, helping them grow and become more valuable than they ever have been before. then you have one of the most treasured talents anyone can possess. And the world needs you. It’s waiting to reward you highly in material or emotional benefits, to give you the things you want.

This is as true in the real world as it is on the internet. It all boils down to the people involved in any given situation. Think about it.

Will Your Twitter Account Survive? – TweetSpinner

TweetSpinner

So you joined the twitisphere? Congratulations you now are among the millions that enjoy this social media frenzy.

You follow me I follow you, twitter is not very hard and can raise a very simple question. What are you doing? It seems people are doing quite a lot on the twitisphere these days.

Spam is the number one concern for the folks that run twitter. Have you read their recent focus? But twitter will soon filter out as many spam accounts as possible.

Now if you are using one of the many twitter friend finders or the Cram Your Twitter Account type affiliate programs. You could be in risk of losing your twitter account permanently.

You have to be very careful of your twitisphere. You don’t want to spend months building a social network and then have it all thrown out the window for over aggressive tactics.

I have used several twitter management tools. Some free, some paid for. Let’s face it after you get a few hundred in your tribe, things can get a bit hectic. DM messages and followers tweeting, filling up your home page like flies to

I had to do something to reduce the time I spent managing this great new social event. The tools I had tried only worked partially for what I needed. I found myself actually using two tools to get the management I wanted and even then there were things I needed and wanted that are left out.

I found TweetSpiner. I was a bit skeptical at first thinking it to be another limited tool that was being spammed on my twitisphere. But, I checked it out and this is what I discovered.

TweetSpinner cares, they want to make sure your account doesn’t get banned from twitter. Be sure to Read the Rules of the road below very carefully. Now let’s Check out TweetSpinner.

Rules of the Road: Follows and Unfollows Do not engage in follower churn!

Twitter considers aggressive, repeated following and unfollowing to be “follower churn” (read Twitter’s rules) and they suspend accounts engaged in this. The definition of

“follower churn” is a difficult one. Twitter is rather vague about it, largely because if they specifically define it, people will use this as a signpost for how far they can push the limits. Our goal is to enhance the Twitter experience for all users. We will not tolerate continued abuse of our application to somehow “game” Twitter. With this in mind, we recommend: Following

” Follow people who you want to engage with. Don’t follow for the sole purpose of gaining more followers.

” Quality over quantity. Build a good, stable follower list slowly, steadily, and CONSERVATIVELY. If you are aggressively maxing all follow and unfollow actions, and using multiple applications like ours, you will almost certainly run into problems.

” Avoid spammers. One common spamming tactic is to create hundreds of fake accounts and have all of them follow each other. If you ALSO follow some of these accounts, then, when Twitter suspends the spammers, you may get caught in their dragnet. You can use our follow filters to help. For example, follow users whose accounts are >60 days old, whose tweets do not consist largely of URLs, who have a good number of followers, who regularly @reply to others, and so on.

” Are you sure you want to followback ALL people who follow you first? Oftentimes, these people are spammers, and following them will put you in a “bad neighborhood” and push you closer to your follow limit. Configure filters to avoid spammers in followbacks.

” Never, never, never follow someone who you have previously unfollowed. Following, unfollowing, and refollowing the same user is a sure sign of Twitter abuse.

” Never hit a “follow limit”. A follow limit occurs when you follow too many people in one day. This limit varies for each Twitter user. If you hit it over and over, you are likely to run into problem. In our application, conservatively set a follow filter (”Stop all following if my friend-to-follower ratio is more than X”) to ensure that you never approach a follow limit. And if you DO hit a follow limit, use another filter to pause all follow actions for at least 1 day.

” Refine your follows. Carefully examine reciprocity scores for each keyword and mimic follow. If any of them are resulting in less than 50% return follows, then you need to adjust them (and your filters), or you should really consider removing them. The goal is to find people who are interested in your tweets, and reciprocity scores below 50% indicate that you’re not finding the right audience.

” Make sure you “mimic follow” someone who truly matches your particular interests (e.g., a family member, a competitor, and so on). With “keyword following”, make sure that you enter very targeted keywords, using the full complement of advanced search terms. For example, if you are interested in scuba diving, you might enter “scuba -snorkeling” (that’s a minus sign in front of “snorkeling”) to find only people tweeting about scuba (and NOT also snorkeling).

” Further refine the scope of your follows by using our advanced filters to target only those people who regularly and recently tweet; whose Twitter accounts are older than, say, 60 days; who you have never purged before; and who have a decent number of friends and followers. Carefully go over each filter and set each of them conservatively. Unfollowing

” Try to unfollow spam, stale, or boring accounts. Try not to unfollow people solely because they don’t follow you back.

” We will soon be complementing purge with a “prune” feature (which will look through your entire follower list, not just people who don’t follow you back). When this feature is available, we recommend transitioning from purge to prune.

” Many top Twitterers speculate that it is the act of unfollowing that is the real “danger point” when it comes to follower churn. Indeed, following is great; but unfollowing those same people just a few days later is obviously problematic. You should carefully consider whether or not you really need to schedule purges. And, if you do, you should absolutely unfollow no more than a handful at a time.

” Generally, you should not unfollow more than 100-200 per day (and even this may be too many!). And you should unfollow those who you deem to not be worthy of your follow (because they spam, tweet to in/frequently, and so on). It simply isn’t sufficient to unfollow someone just because they aren’t following you back.

” Instead of following 100 people, and then later purging 50 of them… instead, examine those 50 that you may purge, and try to configure your follow filters to avoid similar people in the future. Perhaps those 50, for example, haven’t been on Twitter in weeks (in which case you can configure a filter to not follow people who haven’t tweeted in, say, 5 days). Reduce your need to purge by targeted following.

” Give people you follow ample time before you unfollow them; a week or more is a good idea.

” It takes two to tango, and “churn” requires two components: following and unfollowing. As such, it is advisable to focus on each at different times. Or, at the very least, you should give your account a breather now and again, and pause all scheduled follows.

” Please also read our Rules of the Road in regards to sending tweets and DMs through Tweet Spinner. The combination of spammy tweets/DMs in conjunction with aggressive following will lead to problems.

Now what this tells me is TweetSpinner has a longevity approach and I use it every day.

Some very powerful features I enjoy are. Keyword following option. You can type in as many keywords as you want and TweetSpinner will find those individuals and start following them. This is very valuable for target marketing. One other feature is being able to regionally target your twitisphere. For example if I want to find people that live in Oregon. TweetSpinner does that with ease.

This Twitter Tool is one that you will use the most once you try it.

Home Based Business – A home based business is a business whose primary office is in the owner’s home. The business can be any size or any type as long as the office itself is located in a home.
Home Party Plan – Home Party Plan is also called Direct Selling.  However, instead of door to door selling the consultant markets the products and recruits in the home of a hostess who in turn receives product bonuses for holding the meeting in her home.
Marketing – The process of researching, promoting, selling and distributing a product or service. Marketing includes advertising, publicity, promotion, pricing, sales and distribution of the goods or services.
MLM – Multilevel Marketing is selling products by using independent distributors and allowing these distributors to build and manage their own sales force by recruiting, motivating, supplying, and training others to sell products. The distributors’ compensation includes their own sales and a percentage of the sales of their sales group (downline).  Another description is any business where payouts occur at two or more levels; i.e., if you make a sale, both you and the person above you will get a portion of the proceeds. Enjoy demonstrating your products to a group of people (if required);
Network Marketing – A business in which a distributor network is needed to build the business. Usually such businesses are also MLM in nature in that payouts also occur at more than one level. Network Marketing is sometimes also used incorrectly to indicate that the business uses a network of product suppliers in order to offer a broader selection of products.  It is usually used this way to differentiate themselves as a way to suggest that their program is superior to other such programs.
Ponzi Scheme – Ponzi scheme named after Charles Ponzi who in the 1920’s told thousands of people that if they invest in his mail coupons that he could provide a 40% return in only 90 days.  He collected over $1 million in a three hour period and during the investigation it was found that Ponzi had only spent $30 worth of mail coupons.  To make the scheme look legitimate he would pay off early investors. The term Ponzi scheme is often misused as being a pyramid scheme; the essential difference is that Ponzi scheme participants are not offered any direct financial incentive for bringing in other participants. However, they are likely to tell their friends about the investment opportunity.  Ponzi schemes still exist in the way that money is taken from new investors and used to pay off earlier investors.   By the time people realize that they have been scammed, the con artist has fled with millions of dollars.
Pyramid Schemes – A pyramid scheme is an illegal multilevel marketing program in which people pay an entrance fee for the opportunity to recruit others to do the same. Pyramid schemes usually have no products. Chain letters in which you send money to the person who sent you the letter, then you forward the same letter to a number of others is an example of a pyramid scheme.

Techniques On How To Generate More Website Traffic

Internet Marketing requires you to sell other people’s products or services.  If you have decided to create your own product, you sell your own products in this case. Regardless of what your online business model is, we need to generate a lot of traffic to our website. But what is most important is not just getting traffic, but targeted traffic.

In the early days of my internet marketing career, I learned about many techniques on traffic generation. Not a lot of the software and services offered to me had good effects.

Listed below are the three traffic generation techniques that I found most effective:

* Linking

Linking can be by either paid or unpaid methods. The paid methods are paying for your link to be shown in Ezines, newsletters or on other peoples’ sites. Make sure you need the traffic from that source before buying advertising space to make the most out of your money. For ezines, make sure they have a good number of subscribers before you advertise.

The unpaid method is through article creation . If you keep doing this, it will definitely make a good impact in your business. Make sure the content that you create add value to your target visitors.

* Pay Per Click

If you have some advertising budget, it makes sense to put it in pay per click. If you use pay per click, you create a compeling advertisement for your target visitors and bid on the keywords that you want. This method can be quite tedious but there are software programs to help you like the ones used in the google secret loophole program. Make sure you understand the rules of the search engine where you want to do PPC before you start your campaigns.

* Website Optimization

Search Engine Optimization is basically the optimization of your web pages so that you can get a decent ranking by the search engines. Optimizing your website can be a difficult task.

These are traffic generation tactics that are the most effective.
