When you are ready to clean the cabinets, remove the doors and hinges, and use an all-purpose cleaner to wash them, after that wash them over with TSP and allow drying. Keep in mind though that paint will not stick to stained or varnished surfaces.

Mask the floors, countertops and appliances before starting

You can use a sandpaper that is a fine grit, to give every surfaces of the cabinet a bit of light sanding

Put on some primer if you are not painting the kitchen cabinets a similar color

You have to use a high quality brush in applying the paint

Sand lightly with the fine grit sandpaper soon as the first coat is done and it is completely dry

You can have three coats if your cabinets are made of heavy wood, but two coats will be just fine

If you only apply a single thick coat, there is a possibility that it will peel right off

Always be patient and take your time in doing the procedure correctly
