Facebook Promotion Done Correctly

OK, let’s start with a HUGE goal.  Sort of a BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal)

Anyone, and I truly mean absolutely anyone, can print money with facebook.  But, you need the right social media tools.

How can I be certain?

Look at the proof, there are a ton of different people that make an absolutely huge amount every month with Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and the other social media platforms and they do it by religiously following some carved in stone principles.

And, when I state that these successful marketers follow these roadmaps, I mean every time, not merely most of the time.

So, I’m going to share a couple of these iron clad principles here to get you off on the right path.

First, unless you are a seasoned PR and media expert, get some help before you go down the wrong path with your Social Media sales exploits.

Why?

It just makes sense, that is why.If you are going to become a pilot you don’t just plop into the pilot’s seat and turn the key.You get some expert advise. You train prior to take off.

There are a number of valuable courses and experts out there, but there is also a lot of absolute junk.  One of the absolute best bargains that I have come across is the Affiliate Assassin System.

OK, so you’ve made the decision to invest in some Social Media training – sooner rather than late.

What next?

It is crucial to understand precisely what type of offers to promote on your burgeoning social media kingdom. And, there’s no doubt that CPA offers convert like crazy on all the top social media sites.

If you don’t know much about CPA (Cost per Action), great training and bonus resources are available at Commission Payload Bonus.

What else should you pay attention to?

Social Media is just what the name says – MEDIA.Albeit in a innovative form, maybe, but it’s still media.

The difference is, now you inherently control the media.

Just think about that for a minute.

For example.Pick any Media expert, let’s say Oprah.  Of course her main course is celebrities and books. But, she can sell pretty much anything she decides to hawk, all because people trust her.

She’s built up that trust over time.

And, she always camouflages her pitch with other valuable content – stuff that her viewers or readers want and are deeply interested in.

You need to do the same with your Social Media strategy.

Always value your social media friends and followers.Genuinely care about them.  Give them value.

Treat them with the respect they deserve.  This may sound simple, but this is the most important aspect of building a huge responsive following in the social media.

Just combine this over-arching rule of respect with the cutting edge social media techniques from an expert that has already mastered the forum and duplicate their success.

Remember, the payoff is there if you follow the road map.  It’s not unusual to be able to monetize to the tune of per month per follower

6 Ways to Keep Customers Coming Back

There is only one way to maintain a successful website

business and that is to have visitors that keep coming

back for more. This means you need to provide them

with a reason to return, if not chances are better

than average that they will never come back. What you

must have is content that is interesting and updated

regularly.

1. Articles- While it is true that articles give your

visitor something to read the important thing is that

it is relevant information. At some point, you may

have a customer who needs answers pertaining to your

product or service. When you have a site filled with

relevant information, you give the customer something

of value that will keep them coming back.

Have no fear, as you do not absolutely have to write

the articles yourself.

In some instances, you can take the information about

the product your are promoting directly from the

packaging or manufacturers website.

There are also places where you can find relevant

quality content that is free to use. Many article

directories provide a myriad of articles on many

topics that you can copy and paste into your site, the

only requirement is that you leave in a link to the

authors own website.

2. Contest- Most people simply love to win something.

When you offer contest, particularly ones that change

often you give people a reason to come back time and

again. Provide visitors a signup sheet with a link for

your newsletter. All at once, you are bringing

visitors back and building a mailing list.

The most important thing to remember is to change the

challenge frequently, weekly, monthly, either annually

or semi-annually. Remember the more often the contest

or challenge is changed the more often people will

come back the to the site to check it out.

3. Discounts and Coupons- Now that you have

established a mailing list of previous customers you

can offer these clients special discounts or coupons

as an incentive to come back to the site.

There are several popular ways to use coupons, here

are just a few:

-Free or reduced price shipping

-Buy 1 Get one free

-Specific percentage reduction such as 15%

If your site has a shopping cart, discounts are fairly

easy to administer. Most of the time you will give

your customers a code to input at checkout such as

“good deal”, every person with that particular code

will receive the agreed upon discount.

On the other hand, you can also offer printable

coupons to be redeemed at a physical place of

business.

4. Forums- Everyone craves conversation and forums are

a great avenue for exchanging ideas and chatter.

Providing people with a forum gives them a reason to

frequent your online establishment for answers to

questions or just general conversation.

There are two ways you can provide a forum, you can

host your own or choose to use a third party. Either

is fine really, both having pros and cons, it boils

down to the best choice for you and your business.

5. Blog- You may be surprised to find out that people

are interested in what you think. Blogs are a great

way to keep customers in the loop about your business

and life to some extent. Moreover, this is the perfect

opportunity to add the keywords you so desperately

need to your site.

Perhaps the best part about blogging is there are more

than a few free applications that make blogging a

breeze.

6. Newsletter- One of the most effective manners of

keeping customers returning is a newsletter. This

reminds them of all you have to offer and provides a

simple link to return to the site instead of having to

hunt or seach.

In your newsletter, you should provide a teaser

article, and then link to the remainder. Give them

just enough of the information to peak their interest

and then force them to return to your site to read the

rest.

Remember, again, you do not have to try to come up

with this content all on your own. Free article

directories are there to help you and with them, you

can compose a newsletter in half the time.

You also need to make sure your branding design is correct before you start any major marketing campaigns otherwise it could all be a waste of time.

Why There is Nothing More Powerful Than A Well-Written Letter

Are You Going Insane?” That was the headline of perhaps the greatest sales letter I ever penned, my famous “Insane” letter. This one page letter alone is responsible for over five million dollars in income but here’s the REAL beauty of it. I have used the same letter for almost 15 years with the same staggering results in a number of different businesses from my own resort management firm to selling franchises in the karate industry, to software in the golf business. I even used it to sell my own best marketing book that was recently published.

The reason this letter has been so successful is very simple, the concept and the strong copy resonates within the readers. The idea that doing the same thing again and again and yet expecting different results is Albert Einstein’s Theory of INSANITY!

This type of connection and understanding of human nature, motivation and buying psychology is what separates a five hundred dollar sales letter writer from a five thousand dollar or even a fifteen thousand dollar sales letter writer, with a corresponding increase in response.

There is NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING, more powerful than a well-written letter! By well-written I don’t mean spelling, grammar, punctuation and all the things I seemed to have missed by quitting school at age 15. What I mean is a letter that connects with a PROSPECT at the soul. A letter that speaks the language of your companies’s prospects, not the corporate speak language that some Madison Avenue type THINKS that your prospect must speak. And very probably, NOT THE LANGUAGE THAT YOU SPEAK!

It is that connection that makes your copy work and it’s the lack of that connection that makes it fail, whether in a letter, brochure, postcard or Web site.

Here are ten tips for connecting with your audience; check your copy to see how it rates:

1. Always write like you’re writing to a friend.

2. Never use complicated language, keep it simple!

3. Try to avoid surplus use of superlative words.

4. Every single headline and subhead SHOULD have maximum impact and interest to the reader’s SELF INTEREST or curiosity!

5. Do not say what everyone else is saying; be different, ASTOUNDINGLY DIFFERENT, if at all possible.

6. Attempt to paint a picture with your words and make the reader of the letter want to jump into that picture with you because of how great it sounds!

7. Engage the readers of your letter with a story; do not just give them the cold, hard, FACTS.

For example, if you were advertising for Loch Lommond Golf Club in Scotland, you could say that the golf course was designed by the famous player Tom Weiskof. A good fact, but of little impact on the reader of the letter promoting what you are selling. However, if you say, Loch Lommond was very nearly the last course Tom Weiskof ever designed; you lead right into the story… While wandering around one morning in the gentle Scottish mist, while designing the course, Weiskof stepped up to his neck in quicksand and remained there for several hours before being discovered. Is there any question why the 17th hole at Loch Lommond Golf Club is so special for him?

8. Always try to use visual, aural and feeling references to reach the people of dissimilar information processing persuasions. (How many copywriters do you think even know of this critical fact, let alone actually use it? Exactly, not many but it’s great little tricks like this that makes the difference.)

9. Always make sure your piece readable on three levels to accommodate the skimmer, the bobber and the studious. That is to say, for the skimmer: the headlines, captions and underlines alone MUST ALWAYS tell your story. The studious will read the whole letter, while the bobber will zone in on subheads of interest and ignore the rest of the letter.

10. Make the readers take action. Amazingly 1 of the most general mistakes in marketing literature of all kinds is simply failing to provide clear action steps on what you want the prospect actually to do next! For instance, if you want great sales copy that motivates people to take ACTION, call me now at 1800-827-1663!

Well, there it is sports fans; how to connect with your company’s prospects.

Oh, I know that someone at the club will still sabotage your next brochure or letter with well-meaning corporate speak. But, at least, when you read it, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing in advance, why your results will be so predictably poor!

Simple Techniques To Attract Attention To Your Business

The simple task of letting a prospective customer know that you exist is one of the biggest parts of good marketing. For many people the first place that they notice becomes the place they do business with. When they move to a new city the first car dealership they notice gets first shot at their business. But by no means is the first one they notice always the closest or the best it’s just the first one they notice. When I moved to Florida last year and my brand new car got a ding I took it to the biggest and brightest body shop without even noticing at the time that I drove past 4 others in the process. The first insurance agent I called was the one whose small office faced the main road and had a huge blue sign. The very first dentist I called was the only one whose ad said he would take calls 24 hours a day. I of course had unbearable tooth ache at six in the morning on the first day of a three day weekend. Think back to how you choose a particular business especially when you where new in an area, didn’t you often go to the fist or most familiar looking place? With that in mind allow me to share with you several simple methods to attract attention and put more prospects, clients or customers into your business. Also, don’t forgot to pick up a good marketing book to learn even more marketing information.

1. What Your Business Sign Should Be
Often you see enormous and expensive signs with nebulous headings like James and Associates. Make you marquee sign as specific and clear as possible, letting people know exactly what your business does. Printer Repairs, Family Dentist, Attorney at Law, Gift Shop, or aresort management company. Remember people only buy benefits and solutions nothing else! Putting your business’s name in lights may appeal to your ego but it most cases it will do nothing to increase your income!

2. A-frame Signs
One of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to attract business is to invest in a colorful A-frame sign. These signs often attract a great deal more attention than your regular marquee sign. This is due to the fact that it sticks out a lot and because it’s new. And also, because it is on the sidewalk at eye level. Move it around every once in a while to different positions in your shopping center or mall and you’ll be surprised how many people walk in and ask you if you’d just opened your business, even though you may have been in the same location for years.

Now, one little tip. A lot of towns have rules against this type of signage. They employee important people often directly related to Napoleon to drive around and tell you that it is unsightly and against city ordinances, written of course by government officials who never had to meet rent or payroll in their lives. An easy way of getting around this is to use the signs in the summer evenings after 5:00 or 5:30 when the inspectors go home, or you can put them out on the weekends when the inspectors are off work. I even had one client who swore that his A-frame sign brought in so much extra business that he gladly paid a weekly fine!

3. Magnetic Vehicle Signs
Get little magnetic signs made up and put them on your car and you’ll promote your business all over town. If you have a van, you might even custom paint it on both sides with your company name and logo. Always put your company’s phone number in extremely large letters. As well as being an unbelievable ad while you’re driving around, a well-positioned van parked at the edge of your center parking lot can be like a enormous billboard. It also gets around a lot of those restrictive local ordinances about signs. As long as you have staff and assistants that have decent cars, why not get all of them put magnetic signs on their vehicles as well? Having signs on numerous vehicles also makes your business seem bigger, more successful.

4. Try Using a Prop to Get attention
In my martial art schools I use to dressing up a mannequin dummy putting it in uniform and sticking it on the roof of your building doing a flying sidekick or a front kick at the parking lot. People who have driven past our school for years suddenly started coming in when they noticed that we have dummies on the roof of our training facility. We only did it for a couple of weeks in the summer, but it sure attracted a lot of attention. It may sound corny, but it got our karate school noticed. It would work equally well for clothing stores, uniform shop, sporting goods stores and just about anything else you can think of as long as you use an appropriate prop to tie the dummies into what it is your company is actually selling.

For those businesses a dummy doesn’t suit there are all kinds of custom balloons and giant blow up icons that certainly make you business stand out from the crowd. From blimps to soda can, houses to cars you name it and you can get a giant inflatable that matches your needs. Giant spotlights are another way to capture attention particularly in the winter or for those businesses that do a bulk of their business in the evening such, as car dealerships and dance clubs. Letting people in your area know that you even exist is a big part of getting the ball rolling towards conquering your market. Take whatever action you need to let people know you are there!

5. Change Your Window Even if Your Company is Not in Retail
Make use of your building’s windows for some type of thematic display even if you are not in retail. There are thousand of businesses like insurance agency’s, attorneys and even doctors offices that have retail based locations with windows and walk by traffic. Instead of covering them up with dusty blinds these could be put to far greater use encouraging people to stop look and remember the name of your business for a future date when they might have need of your services. You want people to stop, to look, to listen. You want your visitors to say, “Wow!” every single time they walk past your front window.

6. Paint Your Company’s Office for Success
Paint you building a unique color, Kathy’s Hairstyling might go well in bright pink. While Hall’s paint shop might have splashes of brightly colored paint all over the building. A Television repair shop could generate more attention by putting up a wall of broken TVs on one side of the building, or even around the entire building. The key is to find the right color grouping that works in a new prospects mind for your specific field.

7. 5 Sense Marketing Smell
There are 5 different senses to attract people’s attention to your business, you are not limited to just getting visual attention. Place a small all-weather stereo speaker on the outside of your building and play music into the street to attract people as they walk by your business. If you own a clothes shop for teen’s hip hop or rock makes sense, if its chiropractic office water sounds or soothing music would be far better. Whatever you decide to use make sure that it sets a mood matching with what you do. Just as on Television, advertisers get your attention by honking a horn or ringing a doorbell, people will automatically give your business more attention if they hear music drifting out from it as they walk by.

Trying one of these ideas will help a lot, but why not use all of them and really attract some attention?

How Networking Can Help Your Business

The recent economic downturn and the massive layoffs have plenty of people considering working from home. A lot of people realize the hard way that they can no longer rely on corporations to give them jobs and that they need to start a business making money for themselves. For a small business, the startup costs can be overwhelming. There are many things to do when starting a business such as advertising, marketing, branding, stocking up inventory and the list goes on.
